At Dorothy Barley Infant School, we believe all children, particularly the most disadvantaged, deserve to have the best possible start in life.
At Dorothy Barley Infant School, we believe all children, particularly the most disadvantaged, deserve to have the best possible start in life. Barking and Dagenham is one of London’s most diverse boroughs and we are proud that our school reflects the diversity within our local community.
As a school, we endeavour to ensure that everyone within our school community feels valued and has a true sense of belonging. Our bespoke curriculum is reflective of our diverse community and unique location in London and we ensure that equalities, race and social justice is woven through this curriculum, forming natural links across a range of subjects.
Our school has signed up to and are implementing the key points on the Race & Social Justice Charter.
Race and Social Justice Charter
The Race and Social Justice Charter outlines the commitments that we pledge to make, in order to drive real change for our pupils. The charter provides an opportunity to recognise work already implemented in the areas of race and social justice and to form part of a framework for further support to strengthen our practices and address important issues.
