Article 19 (protection from violence, abuse and neglect)
Governments must do all they can to ensure that children are protected from all forms of violence, abuse, neglect and bad treatment by their parents or anyone else who looks after them.
Our Safeguarding Team
At Dorothy Barley Infant school, safeguarding is our number one priority. We are a rights respecting school and we will uphold every childs right to be protected from harm. The staff and governors work tirelessly to ensure that the children are: safe from harm, know that staff have their welfare at heart and that they will be listened to if they want to discuss a problem.
We believe that every person within the school has this responsibility, and our expectation is that they will report any concerns they might have.
Details of our safe guarding team are below. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns about your child or any other child in this school.

Pupil wellbeing and safety is actively promoted at the school. Pupils are listened to and feel safe. Staff are trained to identify when a pupil may be at risk of neglect, abuse or exploitation and they report their concerns.
If you have any concerns about your child, please contact the school office and ask to speak to a member of the Safeguarding team.
