Dear Parents and Carers,
This week we have been busy welcoming our new Reception children to the school. Butterfly class started on Thursday morning and have been off to a great start, settling well and making new friends!
Staffing
We are delighted to welcome Mrs Din to our teaching team. Mrs Din starts on Monday and will be the teacher for Butterfly class. She is a highly experienced Reception teacher with a passion for early years education. We are all looking forward to welcoming her to our school community.
Parent Governors
The governing body of Dorothy Barley Infant School has two vacancies for Parent Governors. The governing body works in partnership with school leaders to promote continuous improvement in the school’s performance.
Governors have a very important role to play by making a positive contribution to the school and the education of all of the children who attend. Parent Governors are elected by their fellow parents. Being a governor is a rewarding and valuable role.
Next week you will receive a letter with further information and an application form. If you have any questions about this role, please do ask!
Time to Talk
We would like to invite you to join us for our Time to Talk sessions – an informal and relaxed opportunity to come into school, share your thoughts and work together with us as a valued part of our school community. Whether you want to learn, have ideas to share or simply want to connect with other parents and staff, we would love to hear from you. Refreshments will be provided, so come along and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee together!
The first session will be on Wednesday 9th October at 8:55am and the focus is the Junior Duke awards.

We have a number of exciting trips planned for Year 1 and Year 2. You will have received a letter for you to consent to your child attending the trip and also details about how you can make the voluntary contribution to fund the trip. We rely on these contributions to enable trips to go ahead.
If you have not yet set up your Parent Pay account or are having any difficulties, please come to the school office for support.
