Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had another busy week in school! Don’t forget to check the blog posts at the bottom of the newsletter to see what your child has been learning in class.
Reception Outdoor Area
You may have noticed the arrival of builders and several big machines in our Reception outdoor area this week. We are delighted to share that a brand new provision is being installed over the next few weeks! In Reception, the outdoor area operates as an additional classroom and is where the children have carefully planned opportunities to develop their communication, language, social, emotional and physical skills. Our new provision will help us to extend these learning opportunities even further.
The children have been closely ‘supervising’ the builders and are very much looking forward to exploring the new equipment!
Parents Evening
Our Autumn term Parents Evenings will be held on Wednesday 11th December and Thursday 12th December. During this meeting, teachers will share important information about your child’s progress in school and how you can support their learning at home.
For the first time this term, we will be using ParentMail to enable parents and carers of children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 to book their own appointments for Parents Evening. This allows you to choose the time slot of your appointment. If you are not yet set up on ParentMail or need any support with it, please do contact the school office. A letter with further information will be sent home on Monday and slots will be bookable from Monday evening.
Nursery meetings will take place on Wednesday 11th December. This means that the Nursery is closed to pupils on that day.
Christmas Nativity Plays
The children in Reception and Year 1 have been very excited to start learning songs and rehearsing for their Christmas Nativity plays! They are looking forward to sharing these with you on the following dates. Further information about tickets will be shared nearer the time:
Monday 16th December – Year 1
Tuesday 17th December – Year 2 Carol Concert
Wednesday 18th December – Reception
Thursday 19th December – Nursery Sing-A-Long
Musician of the Week
Every week, we learn about a different musician in school, from different time periods, cultures and styles of music. This week the children have enjoyed listening to the African folk music of Kye Kye Kule.
Have a lovely weekend!
