Dear Parents and Carers,
We have reached the end of another half term. We hope you all enjoy family time over the break next week and would like to thank you for your continued support.
Careers Week

In school this week, we have been celebrating Careers Week. At Dorothy Barley Infant School, we want all of our children to dream big and have goals and aspirations for the future. The children have been learning about different jobs and were excited to welcome in visitors to share information about their careers, including a builder and a scientist. We even got to meet a former Dorothy Barley student!
University Challenge
We finished off the week with University Challenge on Friday afternoon. This was a special House Challenge where the children got to sign up for a workshop teaching them new knowledge or skills not covered in our curriculum. It was very difficult for the children to choose between all of the different workshops, including architecture (designing their dream bedroom on the computer), engineering and martial arts.
Everybody had a great time learning new skills and thinking about what they would like to do when they grow up.
World Book Day
We will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 6th March. Reading is at the heart of everything we do at Dorothy Barley Infant School and we want all of our children to develop a love of reading.
The theme this year will be ‘Get Cosy With a Book’ and children can come to school wearing their pyjamas. We would also like to invite you into school to share a book with your child.
Please see the letter below for further information.
