Dear Parents and Carers,
We have come to the end of another busy week at school. Don’t forget to check the blog posts at the bottom of the newsletter to see what your child has been learning in class!
KS1 Choir Performance

Our KS1 choir were very excited to perform in a local Music Festival this week! They have been rehearsing hard and performed two songs – Hello Goodbye by The Beatles and Three Little Birds by Bob Marley. They also got to listen to performances from other schools in the borough and experience a range of music.
The children all sang beautifully and represented the school with exemplary behaviour. Well done!
Champion School

As a Little Wandle Champion School for reading, we host half termly events for other schools. We were awarded the Champion School status in the Autumn term to recognise excellence in the teaching of early reading and phonics at our school. We are proud to be one of only twenty-three schools across the country to have achieved this status.
Colleagues from around the country visit to see Little Wandle in action at our school and share the wonderful work our staff and children are doing. Our children are making fantastic progress with their reading and we would like to thank you for your continued support with this.
Red Nose Day

The children enjoyed dressing up in their red clothes and Red Nose Day merchandise today! As well as raising money for charity, the children participated in a range of fun events at lunchtime including karaoke. Compassion is one of our school values and we want our children to show care and compassion to themselves and each other in all that they do.
Parents Evening
Our Spring Term Parents Evenings are on Wednesday 2nd April (3:30-7:00pm) and Thursday 3rd April (3:30-5:00pm). During the meetings, teachers will be sharing information about your child’s progress and how you can support them with their learning at home.
Parents Evening appointments are now bookable for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 on Parent Mail. The booking system will close on Wednesday, so please ensure you have booked your appointment before then! If you are having any difficulty booking an appointment, please come and see us in the office and we can help you.
Nursery parents can book a daytime appointment on Wednesday 2nd April by speaking to Miss Rehling, Sue or Zoe.
