Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to school for the summer term! We have really enjoyed welcoming the children back and hearing all about they how they spent their holidays with you.
Curriculum Themes
Children in each year group have begun learning about their new curriculum theme. Each half term, we have a different curriculum theme that links together learning in English as well as many of the foundation subjects, such as History, Geography, Art and DT. Each theme is designed around a high quality book to enhance our children’s love of reading.
The curriculum themes for this term are:
Nursery | Living and Growing |
Reception | Towers, Tunnels and Turrets |
Year 1 | Fee Fi Fo Fum! |
Year 2 | Blooming Marvellous |
Look out for our curriculum overviews coming home at the beginning of next week with further information about what your child will be learning in each subject.
Nursery 2025-2026
We have begun allocating places in our school Nursery for September 2025 and will be contacting parents shortly with further information. If you have a child who will be turning four between September 2025 and August 2026 (born September 2021 – August 2022), you are able to apply for a place by completing the application form in the school office. We offer part time and full time places and are also able to admit children the term following their third birthday.
Children who join us from Nursery age have a great start to their educational journey and are able to get familiar with the school before beginning Reception. If you would like any further information, please pop into the office where we can help you.
VE Day
This year is the 80th anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day. We will be celebrating this in school on Friday 9th May. The children will all be learning about VE Day and why this was an important day in our history. It will be a non uniform day and children can come to school in red, white and blue clothes or dressed in their best 1940s outfits!
We would also like to invite all families to join us at 12:30pm for a picnic on the field. Entrance will be via the breakfast club gate on Hedingham Road. We are looking forward to celebrating this important historical event with you as a school community.
Rocksteady Music School
We are continuing Music tuition with Rocksteady Music School this term, where children get to learn to play an instrument by forming a band with their friends. There are a few slots left for the summer term. Please come into the office if you would like the link to sign your child up for this.
Have a lovely weekend!
