Dear Parents and Carers,
We have reached the end of another busy week in school! Don’t forget to check the blogs at the end of the newsletter to see what your child has been learning in class!
School Nurse
Our school nurse will be visiting on Friday 7th November. She will be available to meet with parents of children in Year 1 and Year 2 and can offer advice on a range of issues, including sleep, emotional wellbeing, food and diet. If you have any worries about your child, no matter how small, she will be happy to meet with you to discuss them.
If you would like to meet with the school nurse, please contact the school office and this can be arranged.
Safeguarding – Phones
The safety and wellbeing of all of our children is our top priority here at Dorothy Barley. In order to protect everyone in the school community, filming is not permitted anywhere on the school grounds. The use of FaceTime is also not allowed.
Thank you for your continued support.
Time to Talk – Family Navigators
Thank you to everyone who attended our ‘Time to Talk’ session with Barking and Dagenham College this morning, and we hope that you found the information useful!
Our next session is on Wednesday 5th November at 8:55am, where we will be inviting Family Navigators into school. Family Navigators work within the Barking and Dagenham Family Hubs and support families with children aged 0-19. They are there to offer a listening ear and friendly advice in a number of areas, including meeting your child’s changing needs as they grow up, finding local and specialist support, building positive family routines and specialist support for children with special educational needs and disabilities. They are family focused and very supportive. This session is an opportunity to find out more about the work of Family Navigators and also speak to a Family Navigator about your child.
Please enter the school from the Key Stage One playground after dropping off your child. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible!
Harvest Festival

Thank you to everyone who donated food items for our Harvest assembly this week. The children learned all about the importance of helping in our local community and spent time thinking about how we can do this.
Our newly elected House Captains will be helping us when we donate the food to the Trussell Trust next week.
