Dear Parents and Carers,
We have reached the end of the Spring term and have had a busy week full of concerts, parades and educational visits! We hope that you all enjoy the two weeks away from school and have the opportunity to spend quality time together as a family. We look forward to welcoming the children back on school on Tuesday 14th April.
Don’t forget to check the blogs at the end of the newsletter to see what your child has been learning in class!
Music Festival

Our Key Stage One choir had a wonderful opportunity to perform at a local Music Festival at Parsloes Primary School this week. They have been working hard to learn and perform the two songs all term and performed them with confidence! Well done to all of the children involved for their beautiful singing and for representing our school so well.
We would also like to thank Marie for leading our choir with dedication!
Easter Bonnet Parade

We were blown away by all of your amazing Easter bonnets this week! The children thoroughly enjoyed parading in their bonnets in front of their friends and classmates.
The standard of the bonnets was exceptionally high this year, which made judging who would win in each class very difficult! Congratulations to the winners and well done to everyone for your creativity.
Year 2 Educational Visit – National Portrait Gallery

Both Year 2 classes had the opportunity to visit the National Portrait Gallery either this week or last week. This educational visit deepens their understanding of what they have been learning about in class this term, especially in History and Art. In History, the children have been learning about Elizabeth I as a significant monarch in British history and they were able to see portraits of her for themselves. In Art, they have been learning about and creating their own self-portraits using a range of drawing skills.
All of the children behaved fantastically and were great representatives of our school.
Rocksteady Concert

Our termly Rocksteady concert took place on Wednesday morning. Through Rocksteady, children receive music tuition and create a band with their friends. They learn how to play an instrument and how to perform as part of a group, working together to perform a range of songs.
As always, we were very impressed with their growing musical talent! If you would like your child to be part of Rocksteady, they will have come home from school with a leaflet with further information about how to sign up.
Parents Evening
We held our Spring term Parents Evenings this Wednesday and Thursday after school. We know that children are happiest and learn best when we work in partnership with families and value these opportunities to meet with parents and carers.
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and meet with their child’s teacher.
Reminders
We have an Inset day on Monday 13th April. Therefore all children return to school at the usual time on Tuesday 14th April.
Please ensure that all items of school uniform, including cardigans and jumpers, are labelled with your child’s name. We can then make sure that all uniform is returned to the correct child.
Easter Holiday Activities
You may be aware that the Local Authority runs a range of healthy and fun activities for children throughout the Easter holidays. These include football, art, performing arts and even exploring the wild!
Full details, including how to book, can be found in the flyer below.
Easter HAF
Have a lovely weekend! Happy Eid to all who have been celebrating this week.
