Welcome to a special reading themed edition of our weekly newsletter! Don’t forget to check the blogs at the end of the newsletter to see what your child has been learning in class!
We were delighted to officially open our brand new library on Thursday! To celebrate, the children came to school dressed as their favourite book characters and we spent time discussing our favourite books. We have also chosen our new school librarians, who are very excited to take on their special role helping us look after the library, organise the books and encourage everyone to enjoy reading.
We are also joined by some of our governors. It was lovely to show them our fantastic new space and they enjoyed spending time sharing books with the children.
Congratulations to our new school librarians! Each class from Reception to Year 2 now has two librarians to support and encourage reading amongst their friends and classmates.

If you have a child aged 0-5, they are now able to access Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and receive free books. All children aged 0-5 in Barking and Dagenham can be registered for the Imagination Library and receive a free, high-quality, age-appropriate book delivered straight to their door every month.
All you need to do to sign up is complete a short form on the Barking and Dagenham website: Imagination Library – Sign Up

Children with 100% attendance each half term will receive a certificate. Pupils with 100% attendance for the whole year will receive a special reward.
