23 Jan Reception – PE
This week in PE, Reception focused on developing greater control when pushing, throwing and catching a ball. The children began by taking their ball for a “walk”, carefully carrying it and looking after it. They then took it for another walk by using their hands to roll it safely around the PE hall, showing great awareness of the space around them.
Working in pairs, the children enjoyed rolling the ball back and forth to a partner before progressing to throwing the ball with a bounce in between. Everyone had lots of fun while learning about ball safety and teamwork. The children are also continuing to improve their independence when changing into and out of their PE kits.
