20 Mar Reception – Spring Walk & Outdoor Learning
Reception have been busy learning all about Spring this week, and what a wonderful week it has been! The children enjoyed a seasonal walk around the school, where they explored the many signs of Spring. They were excited to spot blossom on the trees, colourful flowers beginning to bloom, and even some busy bees and ladybirds along the way!
Back in the classroom, we discussed and compared the different seasons, thinking about what makes each one special. The children were particularly interested in learning about new life in Spring, such as ducklings and chicks and shared some lovely ideas and experiences.
We also talked about Easter and how it is celebrated during the Spring season, with many children eager to share what they know and how they celebrate at home. We will continue our learning about Easter next week!
With the brighter weather arriving, the children have thoroughly enjoyed spending more time in our outdoor area. We are full of exciting new ideas to develop this space further and make it even more engaging and inspiring environment for learning.
Well done Reception for such a fantastic week of discovery!
