29 Sep Reception TalkForWriting – The Gingerbread Man
When Reception returned from lunch earlier this week, they were met with a big surprise! Their classrooms were a mess with flour, ginger and broken biscuits scattered across the floor in their home areas, and little footprints everywhere. The children even found a rolling pin, biscuit cutter, wooden spoon and a mixing bowl left behind.
The children discussed what could have happened and who could have been in their classrooms. They wanted answers and asked if the CCTV cameras could be checked! The next day, we then watched the footage together and to everyone’s amazement, we discovered that the Gingerbread Man himself had been in our classrooms and he had escaped!
Excited by this discovery, we read the story of the Gingerbread Man and had lots of fun acting it out later in the week. What a magical start to our new focus story of this term!
