Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had another busy week in school! Don’t forget to check the blogs at the end of the newsletter to see what your child has been learning in class!
House Challenge – Languages and Culture

We have had an exciting day today celebrating our cultural heritage and the different languages spoken in school. Children came to school dressed in either the colours of their flag or in clothes that represent their heritage. Everyone had the opportunity to talk about what they are wearing and share more about their culture. We all learned lots about each other and even learned words from many different languages!
We finished off the day with our first House Challenge of the year. In their houses, children learned all about a country and culture that is represented in our school community. Rashford House learned all about England, Attenborough House learned about India, Donaldson House learned about Pakistan and Benjamin House learned about Romania. The children were really curious about different cultures and showed great respect towards each other. Well done everyone!
Parents Evenings – 21st and 22nd October
Online booking for our first Parents Evenings of this academic year on Wednesday 21st October and Thursday 22nd October has been open all week via Parent Mail. If you have not yet booked your appointment, we would encourage you to do so as soon as possible.
This first Parents Evening is an ideal opportunity to find out more about how your child has settled into their new class and the learning in their new year group. It is also a chance to discuss any concerns or worries you may have about your child. If you are having any difficulty booking an appointment, please contact the school office.
Reception Harvest Concert

Our lovely Reception children have been busy learning lots of songs ahead of their first ever concert on Friday 16th October. They will be performing twice, at 9:15am in the morning and at 2:30pm in the afternoon.
Tickets are bookable on Parent Pay and we hope to see as many of you there as possible!
School Site
To protect the privacy and safeguarding of all children, parents and visitors must not make video calls, take photographs or make video recordings whilst on the school site unless expressly authorised by the school. If you are on a video call when arriving at school, please end the video call before entering the school premises. Thank you for helping us to keep all members of our school community safe and to respect their privacy.
Children and adults are also not permitted to ride bicycles and scooters in the school playground. It is very busy in the playground at the end of the day and this rule is for everyone’s safety.
Have a lovely weekend!
