Dear Parents and Carers,
We have come to the end of the Spring term! Thank you for your continued support throughout this term and we hope that you all enjoy a fun filled break with your families. All children return to school for the summer term on Tuesday 22nd April.
Reception Spring Sing-A-Long

This morning, our Reception children were very excited to share their Spring Sing-A-Long with their families. They have been working hard to learn the lyrics to the songs and also their lines. It’s wonderful to see how confident the children are becoming to perform in front of an audience.
We hope you enjoyed the show!
Rocksteady Concert

We had an exciting week of concerts as our Rocksteady bands also performed to their families! The children have been learning to play their instruments for a term and this was their very first concert. They performed songs including ‘Walking on Sunshine’ and ‘Another One Bites the Dust’.
All children from Reception to Year 2 came home with a Rocksteady letter on Wednesday. There are spaces for the summer term if you would like to sign your child up for music tuition.
Easter Bonnet Parade

We had some very impressive Easter bonnets in school this week! We took advantage of the sunny weather and had a parade in the playground with all the children showing off their handiwork. The children have also been learning about the Easter story and why it is celebrated by Christians as part of their Religious Education curriculum.
Attendance
Lots of awards and certificates were given out this week for attendance. We would like to congratulate all the children who received their Bronze and Silver star badges for having 100% attendance for 1 or 2 terms, this is an amazing achievement!
We hope the children also enjoyed their Movie Afternoon on Thursday as a treat for hitting our school target of 96% attendance.
We look forward to giving out many more awards in the Summer Term!
Autism Awareness
One of our assemblies this week focused on Autism Awareness. We learned about autism and the importance of accepting and valuing everyone for who they are. To finish the week, we raised money for the Sycamore Trust by dressing in bright clothes for Autism Awareness Day. As an inclusive school, we want everyone to be seen and welcomed for who they are. Everyone belongs in our school community.
Further information about the work of the Sycamore Trust can be found here.
Junior Duke
There is only one term left for your children to complete their Junior Duke awards. There are so many children across the school who have made a fantastic start with their challenges and seven who have already completed their award! Badges and certificates will be given out in a special ceremony in the summer term.
As soon as your child has completed a challenge, they should bring their booklet into school so that it can be signed off by Mrs Ratford.
Speech and Language
Every month, the Speech and Language Therapy team from the Family Hub share a speech, language and communication strategy with families. Language development is crucial for your child’s academic success and emotional wellbeing. The strategy this month focuses on repetition.
