Dear Parents and Carers,
We have reached the end of another term at school. This half term has been very short but still full of lots of learning as well as celebrations such as VE Day. We hope you all enjoy some family time together over the half term holiday next week.
All children should return to school at the usual time on Monday 2nd June.
House Challenge – Culture and Heritage

We have been celebrating the many cultures and heritages we have in our school today as part of our fifth House Challenge of the year. The children looked great in their cultural dress or colours of their flag and we have been spending time discussing and learning about the different cultures in our classes. As an inclusive school, we welcome and celebrate everyone’s backgrounds and experiences.
This afternoon, children worked in their Houses to learn more about the different languages spoken in school. They have learned phrases in different languages and also facts about the countries around the world.
A special thank you to the parents and carers who joined us at the end of the day to read a book in their home language. The children very much enjoyed experiencing different languages and learned a lot!
Thank you for helping us celebrate the many different languages and cultures that make up our school community!
Reception Trip – Eastbury Manor House

Reception were very excited this week to go on their first school trip to Eastbury Manor House, where they took part in the Turrets and Tiaras workshop. They now have expert knowledge of knights and castles and even got to design and make their own tiaras!
All of the children showed exemplary behaviour and were fantastic representatives of our school. They were positive and enthusiastic (despite the long walk!) and we are very proud of them.
Thank you again to the parents and carers who volunteered their time to accompany us on these trips. Your support is very much appreciated.
Reminders
Even though the weather is getting hotter, all children should still be in full school uniform. In the summer, this means black tailored shorts with the white school polo shirt. Girls may also wear a blue gingham checked dress with white socks. All children should be wearing plain black shoes. Please see the uniform list below for further information.
School Uniform List
Please take care when driving in the streets around the school in the mornings and after school. The surrounding roads are very busy and the safety of the children is paramount. Please park considerately.
Ward Panel Meeting

The Safer Neighbourhood Team are holding their next ward panel meeting on Thursday 18th June at 6pm. The venue is Barking Sporthouse and Gym, Mayesbrook Park, Lodge Avenue. All residents are welcome to attend.
Have a lovely half term break!
