23 Oct Reception Understanding the World – Diwali
This week, Reception have been exploring how Diwali is celebrated and who celebrates it. We learned about the story of Rama and Sita, discovering why this traditional tale is important during the Festival of Light.
The children enjoyed getting creative as they made Diva Lamps using modelling clay and had lots of fun painting firework pictures using recycled kitchen rolls. It was a wonderful week of hands-on learning, helping us understand the significance of Diwali and why it is such a special time for many people around the world.
