15 Nov Reception – English and Maths
This week in Reception, we have been exploring our big question “How can we create a character?” The children have enjoyed looking at different farm animals including the animals from our focus story ‘Farmer Duck’. They were able to choose and draw an animal on some paper. They coloured and cut out their pictures and glued them onto lolly sticks to create their own character puppets. The children were really excited to explore this activity and expand their creativity skills.
In Maths, the children have been learning about the numbers 4 and 5. They were shown different representations of 4 and 5 and had to sort the cards and place them in the correct hoop. Children also practiced making 4 and 5 and counting out 4 and 5 objects from a larger amount and placing them in the matching hoop.
