07 Feb Year 1 – Science & Music
In Science this week, Year 1 have been learning about the senses of taste and smell. We tasted salt, sweet, sour, bitter and umami. We all liked the sweet and umami and most of us liked the salt too. Sour and bitter were not quite so popular! Some loved the grapefruit though and asked our families to buy some.
We the had some pots with mystery smells in them and we had to guess what they were. The vinegar and curry smells were the easiest. The garlic and coffee seemed slightly harder to guess. It was great fun!
Then in Music, we had the opportunity to use the glockenspiels. We improvised accompaniment to a song we were learning. It sounded really pretty!
