21 Jun Year 2 – Science – Suitability of Materials
This week in Science, Year 2 have been testing the suitability of different materials. They filled several bags with different materials such as; pieces of sponge, scrunched up newspaper, cotton wool and bubble wrap. They then placed an egg in the middle of each bag. Using a 1 meter ruler, they held the bag up at that height and then dropped it to the floor to see if the egg would be protected. All of the eggs were protected except for the bag filled with sponge and the children noticed that there were lots of gaps so this is why the egg broke.
