Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back after the half term break! We hope that you all had a wonderful and restful week. We have really enjoyed welcoming the children back into school and hearing all about their break.
Curriculum
This week, we have begun teaching our new curriculum themes for this term. All of our themes begin with an exciting entry point to inspire the child ahead of their new learning.

On the Move |
Year 2 |
London’s Burning |
Earlier this week, you will have received a copy of the curriculum overview for your child’s year group. This document outlines what your child will be taught this half term, as well as ideas about how you can support at home. There’s also a list of recommended reads that will link to your child’s learning. The most valuable way you can support your child’s learning at home is to talk to them regularly about what they have been learning and share books together.

Time to Talk – Speech and Language
Our next ‘Time to Talk’ session is on Wednesday 13th November at 8.55am and will be led by a Speech and Language therapist. There will be some top tips about supporting your child’s speech and language development, as well as plenty of opportunities to chat and ask questions. Whether you are concerned about your child’s speech and language or just want to find out more, everyone is welcome.
If you would like our ‘Time to Talk’ sessions to cover a particular topic, please do let us know.

Rabbit Class Educational Visit
Rabbit Class had a very exciting start to the new term with a trip to the London Transport Museum on Monday! This was a great way to begin their new curriculum theme of ‘On the Move’.
The children showed exemplary behaviour, representing our school well and displaying our school values, although they were very tired by the end of the day! We would like to thank all of the parents who volunteered their time to join us on the trip. This support is very much appreciated as it allows our educational visits to go ahead.
Squirrel class are looking forward to their trip next Monday.
Parent Governors
We currently have vacancies for parent governors on our governing body. Governors work together with the school’s leadership team to promote continuous improvement in the school’s performance. Being a governor is very rewarding and a great way to contribute positively to the educational experiences on offer at the school.
You do not need any special skills or qualifications to become a governor and lots of support is provided. Please do ask at the school office if you would like to find out more.
Musician of the Week
Every week, we learn about a different musician in school, from different time periods, cultures and styles of music. This week the children have enjoyed listening to the traditional Indian music of Kishori Amonkar.
