Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had another busy week in school! Don’t forget to check the blogs at the end of the newsletter to see what your child has been learning in class!
Time to Talk – LEGO

Building Communication Through Play: A LEGO‑Based Parent–Child Workshop
We are pleased to invite families to a Time to Talk session led by our Speech and Language Therapist on Wednesday 3rd June at 9:00am.
This will be an interactive session where you and your child can take part together. During the session, we will model how to use Lego Therapy to support your child’s speech and language development at home in a fun and engaging way.
If you would like to attend, please sign up at the Main Office.
We look forward to seeing you there!
School Nurse
Our School Nurse will be visiting on Tuesday 19th May and will be available for drop-in sessions for parents of children in Year 1 and Year 2. She can discuss a range of topics with parents, including sleeping, food, development and any other worries you may have about your child, no matter how small!
If you would like to book a slot, please let us know in the school office.
Reception Educational Visit
Reception are very much looking forward to their first school trip on Wednesday, when they will be visiting Eastbury Manor House. They will be participating in the ‘Turrets and Tiaras’ workshop, which links with their curriculum theme for this half term. In class, the children have learned all about knights and castles and are looking forward to sharing their knowledge!
Thank you to all of the parents who have kindly volunteered to join us on this trip, it would not be possible without your support.
Reminders
If your child was born between September 2022 and August 2023, they are able to join our Nursery in September. Our Nursery gets the children off to the best possible start to their educational journey and supports them to get ready for Reception. Please ask for an application form from the office to secure a space.
Junior Duke is well underway for this academic year. Congratulations to Shanaya, Ronnie, Uarda and Zayd, who have already completed all of their challenges! We look forward to many more children completing their booklets!
The children enjoyed posing for their class photos earlier in the week. Look out for the proofs coming home soon with information about how to order a copy.
Makaton
As a school, we are learning Makaton as another method of communication. Makaton is a communication programme that uses signs, symbols, and speech to help people communicate effectively, especially those with speech or language difficulties.
Here are the signs we have been learning this week. Scan the QR codes for further information!

Have a lovely weekend!
