Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had another busy week in school! Don’t forget to check the blogs at the end of the newsletter to see what your child has been learning in class!
Art House Challenge

For our House Challenge this term, we have been getting arty! We have learned about a range of artists including Kandinksy, Monet and Yayoi Kusuma and created our own artistic masterpieces inspired by their work. The children have thoroughly enjoyed this enhancement to our Art curriculum and have produced lovely work that we will be proud to display around the school.
Nursery especially enjoyed their art day, coming to school in their own clothes and recreating the splatter paintings of Jackson Pollock.
Staffing Update
As you may be aware, Miss Alexander is starting her maternity leave after the half term break and today is her last day with us. We are sure you will join us in wishing her every happiness as she starts this special time. She will be greatly missed by both children and staff during her maternity leave.
From Monday 1st June, Miss Amir will be the teacher for Hedgehog class. Miss Amir has already spent some time with us and is very much looking forward to joining our school community.
Reception Educational Visit
Reception had a wonderful time on Wednesday on their first school trip. They had a long walk to Eastbury Manor House and a busy day participating in the ‘Turrets and Tiaras’ workshop. The children behaved impeccably throughout and learned a lot about knights and castles. Well done to Reception for representing out school so well!
Thank you to all of the parents who were able to join us for the trip. We would not be able to offer experiences like this to our children without your support.
Time to Talk – LEGO

Building Communication Through Play: A LEGO‑Based Parent–Child Workshop
We are pleased to invite families to a Time to Talk session led by our Speech and Language Therapist on Wednesday 3rd June at 9:00am.
This will be an interactive session where you and your child can take part together. During the session, we will model how to use Lego Therapy to support your child’s speech and language development at home in a fun and engaging way.
If you would like to attend, please sign up at the Main Office.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Reminders
If your child was born between September 2022 and August 2023, they are able to join our Nursery in September. Our Nursery gets the children off to the best possible start to their educational journey and supports them to get ready for Reception. Please ask for an application form from the office to secure a space.
Junior Duke is well underway for this academic year. Congratulations to Joash who has completed all of his challenges this week and shared lovely photos with us. We look forward to many more children completing their booklets!
School is closed next week for the half term holiday. We look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday 1st June at the usual time.
Have a lovely half term break!
