22 May Reception – Eastbury Manor House
Reception have really enjoyed the Towers, Tunnels and Turrets topic this half term which links to our Understanding the World area of learning. As part of our exit point to the topic, we went on an exciting trip to Eastbury Manor House.
The children were on their best behaviour and walked very nicely during our journey. All the chidlren participated in ta Turrets and Tiaras workshop where they were able to create their own shields. They looked fabulous!
The children also learnt more about knights and ha an opportunity at or try on costumes. The children explored artifacts from the past and discussed how things were different then and now. They extended their learning about castles and got to walk up and down the spiraling staircase.
The weather was perfect for us and we had a picnic outside in the manor house gardens. What a fabulous finish to our topic and a lovely day out!
