This week in Reception, we have been exploring 2D shapes. We have looked closely at different shapes and discussed their properties using mathematical language such as, corners, sides, curved, straight. We are fantastic at recognising and naming 2D shapes and will continue to develop our understanding by practising how to describe their properties.
Home Learning: Have a shape hunt around your home! Can you spot a circle, square, rectangle or triangle? Talk about the shapes you find. How many sides and corners do they have? Can you find any shapes with curved or straight sides?
