06 Nov Year 1 – Poppy Making
This week in Year 1, the squirrel class have been using their artistic skills and making poppies. We have been making poppies in honour of Remembrance Day. Remembrance Day is observed annually on 11th November to honour members of the armed forces who died in the line of duty during World War One.
Our beautiful, hand-made poppies will be proudly displayed around our school.
On Wednesday, we are going to have a special assembly to talk about Remembrance Day and why we honour it every year. We will also be having a 2 minutes silence at 11am to honour all the men and women in the armed forces that lost their lives whilst defending our country.
