18 Sep Reception – Maths
This week, Reception have had lots of fun developing their early maths skills! We have been learning to count, recognise and order numbers from 1-10 through a range of fun and practical activities.
We played a fun dice game, where we rolled the dice, identified the number of spots and then chose and performed the matching number of actions. We enjoyed doing 4 claps, 5 star jumps, 3 hops, 6 bunny hops and many more!
We also played a missing number game, using the number line to count an work out which number was missing. Some of us noticed that we could use the numbers that came one more or one less to help us find the missing number.
We were particularly impressed with the children’s number formation practice on their whiteboards and their hand print work, where they showed great concentration and enthusiasm when practising their finger numbers.
